The idea of creating a site to better make know a man who has devoted his life promoting the heritage of his country was finally imposed , according to the of the  disappearance of oral memory and paper archives, although his memory goes on to be reminded sometimes in Nice.

Menica Rondelly is best known today for his  song of the supporters of the soccer team the OGCN. It is surprising that supporters consider this song as if it were a patriotic song. It also should be noted that this song has been adopted by all political currents of the right or the left.

If this song is still famous, it would be nevertheless not enough to know all of Menica Rondelly.

As I have some rudimentary notions of language of Nice, insufficient to understand all the subtilities of this language, I got the help of Jacques Sategna who was a long-time journalist at Nice-Matin and I thank him very much.

I knew a little Menica's son Carolus who was husband of the aunt of my father. My father however well knew Menica and was close of his uncle Carolus all his life long.
This site allowed me to put together some documents. I also searched in the funds of the Archives of Department of Alpes-Maritimes and the Archives of the city of Nice and especially the library Romain Gary 21 bis Dubouchage Boulevard and documentation Center of museum of music located at the Palais Lascaris 15 Droite street.

The regional library allows to search the books available  http://www.bmvr-nice.com.fr

Carolus, one year after the death of his father has published a book that I used. He speaks of his father with a great admiration and affection. He continued the work of his father

My sister reminded me recently a very ancient memory that I had forgotten because I was only 6 years old. We went and visit - my 2 sisters and I - Carolus who was seriously ill and we have been singing Nissa la Bella. This was certainly not an idea of ours but rather our father's who had wanted in his way to give a loving tribute to Menica and to Carolus.

Therefore, without knowing and without really wanting to, I  was vested the mission to spread  the memory of Menica Rondelly, which I am performing here.
